I have writers block. I don't know what to write about. Usually I write about my family and the funny things the kids say.... They've been saying a lot, but nothing very blog worthy has happened. I shall try to be more diligent in my blog posts. I've actually had requests for my blogging... who knew you all liked reading my crazies so much.
Quick up date -

Color Blind
Today as the kids and I were walking home from school we passed this beautifully dark black man working in the campus gardens. Ella says to me "Mom, did you know that brown people were called 'Black people' in the olden days?" I say to her "What do you think about that Ella?" She didn't put much thought into her response, but she said "I think they are just people mom". My heart was proud! I have thought her something after all!

Fingers
Ella was teaching Ethan some of the basics. She was going over parts of the body with him. She would point to his eyes and say "eye", point to his nose and say "nose".... and so on. She got to his fingers and said "phalanges".... WOW! We were socked that she knew that word... and used it correctly! We praised her for her vast vocabulary. She later decided that perhaps that word was too advanced for Ethan and decided to use "fingers" instead.

Jesus
Ella went tromping outside today and left the door open. I called after her "Ella, were you born in a barn?! Shut the door!"
Ella says to me "No, but Jesus was!"
She wins again.

Pooper Scooping
My grandmother and my sister have been helping me watch the girls during summer break. The other day when I went to go pick them up Ella came running up to me...."Mom!, I have something I need to tell you......"
I'm thinking to myself, oh great, what now?! "What did you do Ella?"
Ella says to me, "The other day, we were playing in the sprinkler, and and and I pooped outside."
I start to instantly crack a smile.... "Why did you do that?"
Ella says, "Because we were having too much fun and I couldn't make it inside, but don't worry because I did it behind a bush..."
Oh Ella! I say to her, "Well, next time poop inside the house. You can only poop outside when you are camping, and NEVER in someones yard!"
Maybe I should carry a plastic bag with me from now on when we go to the park... no one likes an irresponsible pet owner.

Math
I got the girls some BrainBooks for the summer. The idea was that they would keep their brains active and wouldn't forget all the things they learned throughout the school year.
Ella was sitting at the table doing her brain book when I hear... "MOM!, I can't do 10 + 4!! I don't have 14 fingers! This math is too hard!"
I said to her, "Ella, you just did it... the answer is 14!"
She just beamed with pride! Maybe she doesn't need 14 fingers after all.
